ONLINE BIBLE CORE COURSE

The three-month Bible Core Course (OBCC) is now available online to enable YWAM staff and those from other walks of life to take the course part-time while continuing with their base/team/ministry and life responsibilities.

The Online Bible Core Course (OBCC) is a dynamic way for individuals to participate in a fully accredited University of the Nations BCC that can be studied part-time at home, your YWAM base or team location. One month’s curriculum of our residential school is extended to a three month module requiring 15-20 hours per week of study. There is a set start time and finish time for each module with the course leader who will not only be a tutor and a support throughout the module but also create community with the other students.

THE OBCC IS IDEAL FOR

This course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the Inductive Bible Study Approach by learning to employ various methods for reading, interpreting, and applying the Scriptures. Students also have opportunities to be involved in topical seminars and various forms of historical, archaeological, literary, and geographical research. During the course, students read through the whole Bible and study many individual books from both the Old and New Testaments in-depth. This study will also provide an opportunity to interact with each of the main literary genres of Scripture.

REQUIREMENTS FOR OBCC

Requirements for the CBCC are:

  • Commitment to study approximately 15-20 hours a week

  • Access to the Internet

  • The dedication, time commitment, and self-motivation for this kind of learning

The Online BCC is not a ‘cheap and easy way to take the BCC, it is not ‘BCC lite’. With the Online BCC, you will be receiving the same depth of teaching input our residential students receive, and the standard of work anticipated is the same. The community dimension of the course – the online meetings – is an integral part of the course and participation is expected.

For our full-time YWAMer applicants we recommend you negotiate with your team/campus leaders to be released two days a week from your ministry focus to give you time to benefit the most from this course. This should be seen as ongoing ministry training and will benefit both you and the ministry you are a part of.

THE ONLINE BCC AND UOFN COURSE CREDIT

Each of the OBCC modules are registered with the University of the Nations (UofN) Online Extensions Studies (OES) program, with credit awarded upon the successful completion of each module. You will be registered with UofN OES and a certificate sent to you upon module completion. Each of the modules earns 4 credits, with a total of twelve credits fro completing the OBCC. For more information about Extension Studies please visit: https://es.uofn.edu/

If at some point you desire to use the Extension Studies course credit towards a UofN degree, then these credits would be accepted as other transfer credits. The number of credits that count towards a degree will depend on the subject of the degree and if these credits are appropriate for the degree focus.

Though the Bible Core Course is a stand-alone course, it is designed to be compatible with the longer Online SBS (School of Biblical Studies).

[This course is the equivalent to the UofN CHR 211 Bible Core Course]
